Arlette, 15, from the Central African Republic, arrives in Berlin for surgery that frees her from years of pain – and suddenly thrusts her into puberty. When war breaks out again at home, her short stay turns indefinite.
Stranded in Berlin, facing a foreign culture and language, Arlette must grow up and decide her own future. Told through her eyes, the film offers an honest, intimate view of everyday life from a unique perspective.
